The Elderwood Update of Palia added a few new minerals you can get, including the Whitestone. You find this type of mineral on various nodes in the newly added dense forest area. Once you have enough, you can refine it in a smelter to get Whitestone Slabs.

The new Elderwood Expansion marks Palia’s largest update to date. It brings fresh quests that encourage exploration of the newly added region. One such quest, Nature of Shadows, tasks you with collecting 10 Whitestones to deliver to Subira. To help you out, here is a guide on where you can find Whitestones in Palia.

You can find Whitestones by mining stone nodes scattered across Elderwood. These nodes can be a bit rare. This means you need to check every nook and cranny of the area, especially around cliffs, caves, and less-traveled paths.

If you see a cliff, there is a high chance that it has a stone node along its edges. Make sure to check them out when you can for potential Whetstones. You can check out the image below to see what these stone nodes look like.

If you are exploring Elderwood for minerals to mine, it is recommended to bring at least a Fine Pickaxe. This is because a standard pickaxe is not effective against a large stone node. These usually give out the most Whitestones, so you might want to come prepared to mine them for resources.

What Is the Whitestone Used For?

Whitestone is used to craft a Whitestone Slab. However, you’ll need to buy the recipe first. It becomes available at the Mining Guild Store from Hodari once you reach mining level 5. The recipe costs 300 Gold, so make sure you have enough money to buy it when it’s available.

The Whitestone Slab is used to craft two very useful items in Palia:

  • Stable Sign: This item lets you travel anywhere in Palia on a riffroc for a price. Crafting requires 30 Ancient Wood Planks and seven Whitestone Slabs.

  • Elderwood Idol: When equipped, it has the ability to track forgeable items. Crafting requires 12 Whitestone Slabs, 12 Grumpy Granite Rockhoppers, and one Enchanting Runestone.

Additionally, in the Elderwood update in Palia, developers introduced the Whitestone Slab, which players can use to craft various Umbrian furniture pieces. It’s a new decorative item added in the Elderwood update in Palia.
