Master the basics of island growth, worker setup, and resource trade in this beginner’s breakdown. Start building smarter in Build an Island.

Load into Build an Island, and your new kingdom is barely a sandbar. Follow the glowing red path, chop the nearest trees, smash the stone columns, and bank the lumber and ore. These first minutes look mundane, yet they unlock the worker management cabin marked with a bright axe.
Open it, hire a Lumberjack and a Miner, then let them sweat while you plan. Gold from glittering trees funds more hires, seeds, coal carts, and bees at the harbor Merchant are essential for supplies and sales. Keep materials moving, keep gold circulating, and the island grows from a humble plot to a buzzing outpost in less time than you think.
Everything About Build an Island
Once you enter Build an Island, you’ll start on a small patch of land. The first thing you need to do is follow the red line. It leads you to key spots like trees and stone columns. Start chopping trees and breaking stones to collect basic resources. These actions are non-negotiable if you want to unlock the Worker Management Building, which is your first real milestone.

This building has an axe icon on it, making it easy to spot. Once unlocked, immediately spawn a Lumberjack or Miner. These workers will begin gathering materials for you automatically. The biggest advantage? They keep working even when you’re offline. But there’s a catch, you need gold to summon them. You can earn this by cutting golden trees and breaking golden stone columns.
After you’ve set up your workers, go straight to the Merchant. He stands near a boat at the map’s edge. The Merchant sells critical items like seeds, coal carts, and bees. You’ll need all of these to develop your island. At the same time, you can sell your gathered resources or crafted items to him for more gold. Just interact, click Sell, select the items, and complete the trade.
From here, begin expanding. First, unlock the crop fields near the Merchant. Plant your seeds and let them grow. Next, move to the plank station as this is where you convert chopped wood into planks, a key material for building other structures. Make sure you have enough wood in your inventory.
Unlocking the Mine

Now look for the tool upgrade station. Use it to enhance your axe, but you’ll need rare items to unlock full upgrades. After that, find the building that lets you convert wood and planks into furniture, which can be sold for gold. Every crafted item helps you scale faster.
Don’t forget to unlock the mine. To operate it, you’ll need coal carts, which you can purchase from the Merchant. This mine is a steady source of gold coins, another important currency in the game. Finally, set up beehives and purchase bees to generate passive income.
Be aware: the Merchant’s inventory can run out. If something is sold out, you’ll have to wait until it’s back in stock, unless you’re willing to spend Robux to refresh it.
By setting up your workers, optimizing structures, and managing trade, you’ll steadily transform your bare island into a productive and profitable hub.
