Splitgate 2 is now in open Beta, allowing free access to all who enjoy multiplayer shooter action. With portals, the gunplay in the game becomes even more exciting, bringing in a whole new dynamic to the genre. The game has plenty to offer to its players. For instance, it features 10 different game modes, each with its own rules, restrictions and maps. In this article, we’ll go over all game modes and maps in Splitgate 2 to understand what each mode brings.
All Game Modes and Maps in Splitgate 2
The following lists encapsulates all of the game modes in Splitgate 2, alongside the maps available in each mode. We’ve also outlined a description of each mode to make it easier for you to assess which of the available modes is best suited to you.
| Game Mode | Description | Maps Available |
| Arena | This one has a total player count of 8, with two teams of 4v4. You will have to adhere to classic deathmatch rules. | Eden, Bypass, Ozone, Frontier, Zenith, Core and Stadium. |
| Team Deathmatch | In this 4v4 mode, teams will race each other to reach 25 kills first. The team that wins two of the rounds by achieving this feat will win the overall match. | Eden, Bypass, Ozone, Frontier, Zenith, Core and Stadium. |
| Takedown | This is a multi-team mode, with a maximum of 24 players joining a match. Get ready for endless fights, where the victors are the last team standing. | Four new simulation maps. More maps will come to this mode at a future date. |
| Onslaught | This is a multi team mode, with a maximum of 24 players joining a match. Get ready for endless fights, where the victors are the last team standing. | Drought, Glacier and Fracture |
| Firecracker | This is a bomb-planting game mode with two teams of 4v4. One team will plant the firecracker while the other will try to defuse it. | All maps |
| Splitball | This exciting mode is a 4v4 match where players will have to control a ball. The team that maintains control of the ball will win. Keep in mind that the player holding the ball won’t be able to shoot while doing so. | All maps |
| Domination | This is a custom game mode where up to 16 players can create their own maps and test out new and more exciting ways to play. | All maps |
| Hotzone | In this mode, teams of 4v4 fight to gain control of a central zone. Teams that manage to control the zone the longest will win a round. | All maps |
| Lockdown | In this 4v4 game mode, your team needs to control every zone in the map to begin earning points. So, you’ll have to coordinate perfectly with teammates to maintain control over all three zones | All maps |
| The Lab | This is a custom game mode, where up to 16 players can create their own maps and test out new and more exciting ways to play. | Map creation in co-op |
