MindsEye is a third-person shooter set in a dystopian near-future where AI has become pervasive and corruption runs rampant at all levels of society. Developed by Build A Rocket Boy and powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game stands out for its realistic character design and cinematic visuals. With the title slated for a release on June 10, 2025, PlayStation and Xbox players are inquisitive about its availability and compatibility on consoles.
Is MindsEye Available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2?
Besides PC, MindsEye is releasing on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game is not compatible with older-generation consoles, such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The developers also haven’t stated any plans to release MindsEye on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

How Well Is MindsEye Optimized for Xbox Series X|S?
MindsEye boasts the “Optimised Xbox Series X|S” tag on the Xbox Store. This means that the developers have gone the extra mile to optimize the game, taking full advantage of Xbox Series X|S hardware and its technological features. These include Variable Rate Shading (VRS) and hardware-accelerated DirectX Raytracing for true-to-life lighting and accurate reflections. The game will also support Smart Delivery for timely version updates.
Practically, this means that MindsEye should be able to maintain a stable frame rate of 60 FPS with upscaling and frame generation. While the performance of Unreal Engine 5 games has been a mixed bag on Xbox Series X|S, this level of optimization bodes well for prospective players.

How Well is MindsEye Optimized for PlayStation 5?
With the currently available information, it is unclear how well the base version of the PS5 will run MindsEye. The PS5 experiences noticeable frame rate drops while running recent Unreal Engine 5 games like Oblivion Remastered on performance mode. Based on the performance of similar titles, we can estimate that the PS5 may be able to run MindsEye at a stable 60 FPS on performance mode. Turning upscaling to balanced mode will significantly increase visual clarity, but may cause noticeable frame rate drops.
The PS5 Pro is expected to run MindsEye with considerable visual fidelity, given the game’s “PS5 Pro Enhanced” verification. Build A Rocket Boy has specifically optimized their game to leverage the PS5 Pro’s enhanced hardware capabilities with Ray Tracing and AI-enhanced resolution up to 4K using PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This can translate to a stable 60 FPS up to 120 FPS in performance mode.
