The Open Beta for Splitgate 2 is here! You can finally start playing and experience the brand new multiplayer shooter that places a great emphasis on the use of portals in its gameplay. But before diving in with your buddies, you should know about the factions that the game offers. Only then will you be able to gauge which of the factions feels right for you.
For starters, the game has three factions – Sabrask, Aeros and Meridian. While your base stats don’t change depending on your faction choice, your equipment and playstyle surely do. So, in this guide, we’ll explore each of the factions in Splitgate 2 and understand which of them is right for you.
All Factions in Splitgate 2
As we stated previously, the game features three factions for players to choose from. Let’s dive deep into each of the available factions to understand more about them and their abilities.
Aeros

This faction belongs to Earth and prioritizes fast-paced combat.
- Faction ability: Rush – Movement and reload speed increases. You get an immediate dose of health.
- Style: Flashy and fast
- Team trait: Taskmaster – This will reduce the cooldown for your abilities.
- Notable aces: Bolt, Ricky Panache, Adoro, Oni, Dart, Alfa Elo
- Best at: Fast kill chains and smooth movement through portals
Sabrask

This particular faction comprises warriors from Mars. They can take a lot of damage and still keep standing.
- Faction ability: Smart Wall – Places a transparent shield that stops enemy fire but doesn’t block shots from allies.
- Style: Aggressive and highly durable
- Team trait: Stockpile – The faction members start off with more ammo
- Notable aces: Rhinok, General Boomhower, Greta, Fray, Rusty Dingo
- Best at: Heavy weapons and shotgun proficiency. Defending tight spaces.

Meridian

Hailing from Venus, this faction has access to the most high-tech gear and tools.
- Faction ability: Hypersight – The entire team can see enemies through walls for a limited period.
- Style: Tactical and focused on their abilities.
- Team trait: Wellness – Quicker regeneration of health.
- Notable aces: Mira, Proto, Shinji, Phaze, Ryokō-sha
- Best at: Team synergy and the use of advanced tools.
