Favoriting fruits in Grow a Garden feels like putting a tiny padlock on your most prized crops, yet many players still panic whenever a Raccoon scurries across the screen. Relax. The furry thief is actually a courteous copycat.
Every fifteen minutes, it slips into another garden, grabs the data for a single crop, prints a perfect clone, and trots back to you without disturbing the original plant. Even a fruit marked with the lock icon remains right where you left it, untouched and perfectly safe.
Can Raccoons Take Your Favorite Crops in Grow a Garden?
Favoriting a crop in Grow a Garden is meant to protect it from accidental collection. Once you use the Favorite Tool, a lock icon appears on the plant, and you can’t manually harvest it. This gives players peace of mind when managing high-value or rare fruits. However, many players worry when Raccoons enter the picture. Let’s clear that up.
Raccoons don’t steal crops, favorited or not. Their behavior is simple. If you hatch a Raccoon from a Night Egg (which has only a 1% chance), it will start visiting other players’ gardens every 15 minutes. Each time, it duplicates one of their crops and delivers it to you. The keyword here is duplicate. It doesn’t take anything away from the original garden.
Even favorited fruits aren’t off-limits to this duplication process. Yes, the Raccoon can duplicate a crop that has been locked with the Favorite Tool. But no, it doesn’t unlock, remove, or harvest it. The original plant remains in place and untouched. The lock stays active, and the fruit stays in your garden.
For example, if you use the Favorite Tool on a Grape and a Raccoon chooses to duplicate it, you still keep your locked Grape. Another player gets a copy, but you don’t lose anything.
So, the bottom line is this: favorited fruits are safe. Raccoons might seem sneaky, but all they do is copy crops. Nothing gets stolen, removed, or reset. You can keep using the Favorite Tool to protect your fruits without worrying about losing them to Raccoons.
