Break down every upgrade in Pixel Blade from S to D Tier and build smarter. Start ranking your build today.

Pixel Blade rewards sharp choices more than reckless sword swings, so locking in the right upgrades is half the battle won. Think of Spirits as fuel for both your speed and your damage; stack them correctly, and you zip through mobs while slicing health bars to ribbons.
This tier list ranks every power-up from must-grab to hard-pass. By the end of this guide, you will know exactly why Rage Spirits belong on every build, when Flame trumps Poison, and why Thorns is better left on the ground.
Pixel Blade: Upgrade Tier List
The tier list below ranks all upgrades in Pixel Blade from best to worst, based on how much value they bring in normal, co-op, and Heroic modes. Use this to prioritize your picks, especially if you’re trying to build a high-damage, high-mobility setup.
S-Tier Upgrades

- Rage Spirits
- Increases damage with each Spirit collected.
- Also boosts movement speed.
- Scales heavily with Spirit Capacity.
- Best overall upgrade for DPS across all modes.
- Spirit Capacity
- Adds additional Spirit slots (starts at 2).
- Indirectly boosts DPS by increasing movement and Spirit synergy.
- Works best when paired with Rage Spirits, but still solid alone.
- Stamina
- Increases stamina bar and regeneration speed.
- Greatly improves dodging and repositioning.
- Best defensive upgrade, especially useful in boss fights.
A-Tier Upgrades
- Flame Element
- Adds Burn to attacks (21 damage at Rank I).
- Highest damage-over-time (DoT) effect among elements.
- Combine with Rage Spirits for optimal output.
- Poison Element
- Adds Poison to attacks (15.8 damage at Rank I).
- Slightly less effective than Burn, but still reliable DoT.
- Life Steal
- Heals you when picking up Spirits.
- Good for beginners or players taking frequent hits.
- Loses value once you master dodging and positioning.
B-Tier Upgrades
- Frost Element
- Adds Freeze to attacks (10.4 damage at Rank I).
- Lowest damage among elemental upgrades.
- Useful only if Flame or Poison aren’t available.
- Element Circle
- Applies random elemental effects in an aura around you.
- First tick takes a second to activate, limiting its usefulness in fast-paced fights.
- Can be strong against stationary bosses, but risky elsewhere.
- Critical Boost
- Increases the chance to deal critical damage.
- Requires multiple ranks to become effective.
- Often not worth sacrificing higher-tier options.
- Recovery
- Reduces cooldown on your weapon skill.
- Useful in long runs or skill-heavy builds.
- Needs max investment to matter, so generally not worth early on.
C-Tier Upgrades

- Health Boost
- Increases your max HP.
- Redundant if you’re good at avoiding damage with movement speed and dodges.
- Only helpful in early runs or for very new players.
- Agility
- Adds a small chance to ignore incoming damage.
- It can save you in rare moments, but not reliable.
- Better to invest in movement-focused upgrades.
D-Tier Upgrade
- Thorns
- Deals damage to enemies when they hit you.
- Only activates when you take hits, which you should be avoiding anyway.
- Doesn’t scale well and is not worth the slot in any serious build.
That said, everyone has their own playstyle. Maybe you swear by Element Circle, or perhaps you’ve pulled off wild combos with Thorns and Life Steal. So, what does your go-to build look like, and which upgrade have you found surprisingly effective?
