In this guide, we shall go over how to beat the Tree Sentinel and Royal Cavalrymen Night boss in Elden Ring Nightreign.

The original Elden Ring had some of the hardest bosses we’ve ever faced, and the game perfectly set the tone by kicking it off with the Tree Sentinel. The Tree Sentinel was the first boss you faced in Limgrave and was an absolute killing machine.
With low stats and a weapon that amounted to cardboard, you were no match for the Tree Sentinel. Over the next few hours, you levelled up, got better gear, and simply got better at the game, returning to and conquering the Tree Sentinel with no fear.
Now, Elden Ring Nightreign has turned the Tree Sentinel into a force of nature, and someone you should fear once again, even going as far as to pair the boss with two Royal Cavalrymen. The Tree Sentinel and Royal Cavalrymen are one of the Nightbosses in the game, and are a seemingly insurmountable hurdle on your way to the Night Lords.
If you’ve hit a roadblock with this boss, we’re here to help. In this guide, we shall go over how to beat the Tree Sentinel and Royal Cavalrymen Night boss in Elden Ring Nightreign.

The Tree Sentinel and Royal Cavalrymen are one of the bosses you face at the end of Day 1 pr 2 in the game. Since the bosses at the end of the day are randomized, your chance of running into them is purely on RNG. The bosses are all mounted on horses, making them difficult to deal with. They close in distances quickly, and running away is not really an option.
To beat them, you need to pick off the Royal Cavalrymen first, before focusing attention on the Tree Sentinel. Once the Tree Sentinel is alone and down to half HP, he summons lightning, forcing you to be quick on your toes.

The moment the boss fight kicks off, you’ll notice that all three enemies are on horses. While you will not be able to damage the horses of the Tree Sentinel, you can do so for the cavalrymen. One person on the team needs to hold off the Tree Sentinel, while you and your other teammate need to take out the cavalry.
The cavalrymen are much weaker and don’t hit as hard. Taking them out also creates room to maneuver around the Tree Sentinel. Use heavy weapons, preferably on a Raider, to take down the horse. You can then simply backstab the Cavalrymen once they’re on foot to finish them off.
With the Tree Sentinel, you need to tap into all that you’ve learned in Elden Ring. Try to stay behind his back at all times. If you’ve garnered its attention, DO NOT STRAY TOO FAR. The boss will launch fireballs at you if you do so, and they have a weird hitbox in our experience. Keep the boss’s attention and slam away at his horse from behind.
Once at half HP, the Tree Sentinel starts launching red lightning all over the area. The ground lights up red, notifying you of where the bolts will land. Watch the ground and use the opportunity to damage the Tree Sentinel. Stay close and behind the boss to deal damage and win.
