Elden Ring Nightreign provides an extremely dense map of Limveld for players to explore, and this map keeps changing after every expedition. During every expedition, you’ll clear out many locations, including ruins, castles, and forts for a variety of loot and items. For the most part, navigating the detailed map feels simple enough once you learn what each icon indicates.

However, there’s one exception. Players might struggle to maneuver the confusing layout of the underground sections of the map. Still, there is a way to access the underground maps, which the game doesn’t do an excellent job of explaining. In this guide, we’ll explore how you can view the maps for the tunnels in Elden Ring Nightreign.

The underground sections of the game have various branching pathways. So, you could easily get lost inside one of the tunnels for hours without finding a way out. That’s why you need to keep track of where you’re going on the map. The game has a map for the underground sections. However, you might not be able to access it without knowing how. To do it, simply open the general map and press the button assigned to Swap Items. For instance, on the PS5 controller, it’s the downward directional button on the D-Pad.

If you want to go back to viewing the general area map once more, simply press the same button again. So, now you can easily keep an eye on exactly where the entrances and exits are for every tunnel or underground cavern you come across. Some of these areas can get extremely complicated to track, especially after one of the Shifting Earth events. With this neat trick, you can check the tunnel map and prevent yourself from getting lost.
