The Stink and Burn side quests task you with helping an old man, who is being pursued by a witch. However, as you investigate, the quest takes an unexpected turn. How To Complete Stink and Burn in Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon

Talk to Lemuel 

The Stink and Burn quest can be easily missed if you are not paying close attention. While most side quests require you to find an NPC and talk to them, Stink and Burn require you to talk to a barrel. Head south of Cuanacht, near a wooden bridge, and look for a barrel next to a cart. As you approach it, you’ll see the prompt “Lemuel in a Barrel”. Interact with it to talk to Lemuel, an old man hiding from a witch named Karla. He will then ask you to find and convince Karla to leave Lemuel alone. 

Find Karla

Karla can be found in one of the tents near a Wyrdtower. The exact location is marked in the above map. Upon talking with Karla and inquiring about Lemuel, it will be revealed that Karla is the actual victim. Karla explains that Lemuel took advantage of her while she was trying to help him. Moreover, he also claims that Karla bewitched him. If you choose to help Karla, she will teach you an incantation to deal with Lemuel. 

Return to Lemuel

After speaking with Karla, return to the barrel where Lemuel is hiding. While speaking with him, select to spell dialogue option to recite the incantation and help Karla. Alternatively, you can also kill Karla and her followers to help Lemuel, which rewards you with the Amulet of Fearful Man. This concludes the Stink and Burn side quest.
