In Elden Ring Nightreign, you can find weapons of different rarities, with legendary being the rarest and strongest. Legendary quality items are usually widely recognizable weapons and equipment from Elden Ring. Therefore, they typically provide special skills or passives.

However, there is a way to turn your starting weapon, or any weapon that you find during your expedition, into legendary quality. Do note that you won’t get any extra skills or passives from turning your weapon legendary. The reason for doing so is that some basic weapons have S or A scaling on them, which means they gain a huge damage boost when upgraded.

Legendary Ascension in Elden Ring Nightreign

You can turn any weapon in Elden Ring to the rarest quality by using Legendary Ascension. To receive Legendary Ascension, you first have to defeat the starting Nightlord, Tricephalos, and unlock the Shifting Earth event. The Shifting Earth is an event that spawns a lava area within the eastern area of Limveld. You have to reach the bottom of the event area and defeat Magma Wyrm to obtain one charge of Legendary Ascension.

The best way to get it safely is by playing Day 1 normally and going down the lava zone on Day 2. Moreover, you can defeat enemies on the way to level up as well. There is no set path to go down in the area; you just have to keep going down from wherever you can. The only thing you have to avoid is falling into the lava below. Here’s how you can defeat the Magma Wyrm boss.

Tips To Easily Defeat Magma Wyrm in Elden Ring Nightreign

Magma Wyrm is a fire-resistant and frost-resistant creature. Therefore, bring something that can inflict sleep on targets, as the Magma Wyrm is weak to the Sleep status.
None of the elemental damage types is effective on Magma Wyrm. Use physical damage to bring it down.
Make sure to have fire resistance buffs before entering the lava zone. You are going to need them for the boss.
Magma Wyrm does slow but heavy attacks. Most attacks are highly telegraphed, so dodging them is quite easy.
It is recommended to take ranged characters such as Ironeye or Recluse to damage Magma Wyrm from a distance and avoid taking damage.
The Magma Wyrm can spew out lava in multiple ways to either attack you or defend itself.
Do not walk into the lava spewed by the Magma Wyrm. It does a ton of damage when walked on.
The only weak spot this boss has is its head. You have no choice but to face it head-on to deal with high amounts of damage.

After you defeat the Magma Wyrm, you can use the Special Armament Strengthening forge at the end of the arena to turn any weapon into legendary quality in Elden Ring Nightreign. Do remember that you can turn only one weapon to legendary, then the forge becomes inactive.
