Tower defense games are quite popular on Roblox. One of the most popular games in this category is Toilet Tower Defense. Developed by Telanthric Development, it was released in September 2023. Since then, it has accrued over 5 billion visits. It currently boasts an active player base of over 10K. The spike in the player base is due to a brand-new update called the Colosseum Update.
In the game, players place units, such as cameramen and other characters, to defend their base against waves of attacking “toilets.” This article will explain the new gameplay changes introduced with the Colosseum Update in Toilet Tower Defense.
Toilet Tower Defense: Colosseum Update Explored
The Colosseum Update is the 85th update for Toilet Tower Defense, released on May 31, 2025, at 9:00 AM PST (1:00 PM EST). Let’s look at everything new in the game:
New Units
Units are essentially playable characters that players can place on the map to defend their base. The new update introduced five new units to the game. Here are the new units:
- Sandshield Soldier (Legendary)
- Bladestorm Brute (Mythic)
- Oracle Speakerman (Godly)
- Titan Colosseus Maximus (Celestial)
- Brutus The Bound (Exclusive)
New Colosseum Crate (Celestial Rarity)
A new crate is available in the Exclusive Shop for 400 Gems. It contains four new units with the following drop rates:
- Sandshield Soldier (70% – Legendary): A sandy Roman defender unit.
- Bladestorm Brute (26%): A powerful unit with high damage potential.
- Oracle Speakerman (3.995%): A rare support unit.
- Titan Colosseus Maximus (0.005%): An extremely rare and powerful unit.
This crate is notable for being the first Celestial rarity crate, distinct from the Exclusive rarity crates introduced previously.
Gameplay Changes
- Knockback Sub-Trait: A new sub-trait was introduced as part of the update. This affects unit interactions with enemies by pushing them back.
- Speed Run Loadout Update: The Speed Run mode received a new loadout, replacing the previous one:
- Current Loadout: Santa TV Man, Mystical Titan, Electric TV Man, Infected Future Clockman, Astro Upgraded Titan Cameraman.
- Old Loadout: Santa TV Man, others unspecified.
