The energy of Jan’s suit in The Alters is not infinite. Discover how to restore the suit energy and venture into the harsh outside.
Living on an uninhabitable planet with alternate versions of yourself sounds like a nightmare. Such is the life of Jan Dolski, the main character in The Alters.
Jan has the privilege (or the punishment) of seeing multiple paths his life could have taken before his eyes. As surreal as that sounds, you, as Jan, must also carry out efficient base management and resource harvesting. This planet, plagued with many calamities like radiation, also houses many resources.
To avail yourself of these resources, Jan must leave the solace of his base and venture out. However, he must wear his suit to stay (mostly) safe. The suit requires energy to function, and that energy eventually depletes.
In this article, let’s discuss ways of restoring the energy of Jan’s suit.
Why Do We Need To Restore Jan’s Suit Energy in The Alters?
The energy of the suit is used when you carry out the following activities:
- Using the climbing hook: One use will cost you two energy bars. Sometimes, there are alternate pathways where you do not need to climb.
- Sending scan waves: This speeds up the scanning process and consumes energy bars.
- Using a luminator: This gadget is used on anomalies and drains energy from your suit.
How To Recharge Jan’s Suit
As the name suggests, you can recharge at Charging Stations. They are available at mining outposts, travel pylons, and near the entrance of the main base.
Recharging the suit at Charging Stations is free. However, keep in mind that recharging takes time.
After each day, Jan’s suit is automatically recharged.
Alternatively, disposable Suit Batteries charge the suit. You must craft them at the Workshop, and it does not hurt to keep a couple of them in your inventory. That way, you can quickly charge up when there are no Charging Stations nearby.
Initially, crafting one battery costs 40 Organics. However, at level 1 of the Research Laboratory, you can run a research project named Cheaper Batteries. After that, the cost of battery production is reduced by 50%.
