Food is an integral part of keeping you and your team members happy in The Alters. However, the game has a very limited number of dishes that you can prepare. Since survival is the primary objective here, nobody expects a five-course meal. However, there’s one alter that will ask you to prepare a specific dish called Pierogi.

In this guide, we’ll explore how you can make Pierogi in The Alters and how to gather the necessary ingredients for it.

Pierogi is a special dish that you can make for Jan Technician, the first alter you meet in the game. Jan Technician is a complicated person, and establishing a friendly bond with him and the real Jan can be tricky. Preparing one of his favorite meals will surely make bonding with him easier. Making Pierogi requires you to use 2x Raw Food. At this point in the game, you should already have this in your inventory, as it is one of the resources available from the beginning.

To make this food, your base needs the Kitchen module. Once you’re in the Kitchen, walk over to the back wall and interact with it to open the food menu. Choose to make Pierogi, and then select the stove to start the cooking process. Cooking the dish requires you to spend one hour of in-game time. After the cooking process is complete, simply walk to the left corner of the Kitchen and interact with the HUD’s pink icon. This triggers a cutscene showcasing Jan and Jan Technician bonding over the meal.

Can You Make Pierogi Later On?

No, you won’t be able to make Pierogi after this particular quest ends. After this, you can only make two food variants: Mush and Cooked Meal. The former requires minimal ingredients but does not offer as much satiety to Jan and the alters as Cooked Meal does. However, preparing Cooked Meal takes longer and requires significant resources.
