Roblox confirms Teddy’s exclusion from The Hatch after a coordinated protest from developers and community backlash.

Roblox has officially rescinded Teddy’s invitation to The Hatch after facing widespread backlash online. For context, Teddy (aka TheOfficialTeddy) is a controversial developer, and one of his games was included in the lineup for the upcoming egg hunt-inspired event. This did not sit well with many in the community, with popular content creator KreekCraft openly calling on Roblox to ban the controversial figure.
Many developers, such as MiniToon (the maker of Piggy), have also pulled their games out of the event in protest. While there had been screenshots of Discord messages indicating that Teddy was going to be excluded from the event, the Roblox account on X has now officially confirmed that TheOfficialTeddy will not be part of The Hatch.
Replying to MiniToon on June 19, 2025, Roblox said that safety and well-being were among their major priorities while hosting events and that Teddy should not have been invited in the first place:
“The safety and well-being of the Roblox community is our top priority. On top of our community standards, we have additional guidelines to qualify to participate in platform events. TheOfficiaITeddy should not have been invited; we have rescinded their invitation to The Hatch and have taken appropriate action in accordance with our policies.”
Roblox also announced that it is re-evaluating the list of participants for The Hatch:
“Our team is thoroughly re-examining the invitation list against our community standards and are re-evaluating these processes to ensure an additional level of vetting for our invitees going forward.”
“Ban Him” – Conor3d, KreekCraft, and Fans Urge Roblox To Take Action Against Teddy

The community has intensified its calls to permanently ban TheOfficialTeddy from Roblox in the wake of the announcement. Teddy has a reputation for making games that simulate online dating, which is against the platform’s TOS. Roblox has banned his account multiple times in the past, but his account and games on the platform are currently active.
Popular YouTuber Conor3D replied to the official Roblox announcement and urged the company to ban TheOfficialTeddy, saying:
“Ban him.”
KreekCraft, who has previously called on Roblox to ban the controversial developer, has reiterated his stance in the replies as well. KreekCraft noted how many of his games had thumbnails that insinuate explicit acts:
“One of the thumbnails for his game features two Roblox avatars on a bed together with heavy implications of explicit activity. I’m not really sure what needs to be investigated here. Just look at the thumbnail.”

MiniToon, the developer of Piggy, also replied to the thread. They welcomed Teddy’s exclusion from The Hatch but also noted that Roblox should further investigate the matter, as the whole situation makes the platform look bad.
“We appreciate their removal from the event, but I please ask that the moderation team reviews their account accordingly. If their game doesn’t follow your guidelines, surely their account doesn’t either. I want this platform to be a safer place, I know you guys can do better.”
“Bad looks for the platform reflect on us developers as we are supporting it by creating its content. I don’t want to have to make these tweets, but it feels like we are just being seen and not heard, witnessed and not understood.”
