Rematch officially made its much-awaited launch on June 19th, 2025. The game has been highly received by the fans, with a lot of changes being brought to life after the beta phases. The feedback diligently given by the players was duly noted, and amendments were made. In this article, we will be looking at the Rematch patch notes #0.4 1.20.004.

Save Files

This is specific to Steam and not for the other platforms or PC launchers. Steam now will see better handling of the save files to avoid any potential crashes. This will also fix any remapping issues which were previously seen during the second stage of the beta phases.

  1. This patch hotfix will reset all of the previous settings for every player, including key binds, sensitivity settings and display settings, among others.
  2. The workshop progress as well as the medals will be reset.
  3. Players will go through the ‘first launch’ option again, even if they previously have been through it.
  4. The player customisation and inventory, as well as the profile progression, will be untouched. This will include XP points, ranking points, currency and captain pass tokens from the early access stage. This date will be restored immediately after the player logs into Sloclap online services.

Matchmaking

The matchmaking algorithm has been through some major tweaking to help reduce the waiting time while waiting to find matches. This will be seen in both the casual and ranked queues. While the change will be visible in the lower ranks, a highly significant difference will be seen at the higher ranks.

By bringing this change to the matchmaking issues, a healthy balance will be maintained between match qualities and queue times. The team will continue to monitor any issues on this front and move ahead carefully. They will also rely on player feedback to keep improving the matchmaking to perfection.
