Rematch is doing stellar numbers in terms of active players and it only keeps growing. Being an online-focused game, playing online with friends or strangers is what keeps the game afloat. The game is available on not one but three different platforms. So a major question on every player’s mind was when crossplay would come into play. In this article, we will be looking at what the current update for crossplay in rematch is.
Crossplay in Rematch
Sloclap finally took the time to address one of the biggest questions for the game. The answer was, however, not what many would have hoped for it to be. Sloclap made an official apology to the fans, admitting their mistake in not letting the fans know in advance that crossplay wouldn’t be available at launch. In a blog post uploaded by SloClap on the official website of Rematch on June 19th, 2025, they expressed their concerns regarding the crossplay.

“We understand many of you were looking forward to playing Rematch across platforms from day one,” said the studio.
They also added, “We did our utmost to include crossplay at launch, but Rematch is the studio’s first crossplay title, and we faced unforeseen technical complexities which prevented us from having this feature ready in time. We should have communicated as soon as it became apparent that crossplay wouldn’t be available at launch, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience and frustration it caused to some of our players.”
They ended the statement by saying, “It’s very important for us that our players are able to enjoy Rematch with their friends, so along with bug fixes, crossplay is our absolute highest priority. We’re committed to delivering this feature swiftly, and we’ll share a more precise deadline as soon as possible. We already have a basic working version from a technical standpoint, but we need to implement the relevant interfaces before debugging and polishing it and finally passing console certifications successfully. All this takes time, but we are doing our best to move forward quickly.”
While crossplay is not readily available, you should note that Sloclap has kept it as their utmost priority and is due to release it sooner rather than later.
