Unlock the secrets of Tal-Rey’s Tomb in Vesteria. Our guide helps you conquer this challenging endgame dungeon.
Tal-Rey’s Tomb is arguably one of the hardest dungeons in Vesteria. It is an endgame activity that requires a party of at least level 55 players. Fans have waited to fight the boss for a long time, with rumors about the dungeon circulating among the player base for years.
Completing the dungeon is no easy task, but a clear has the potential to yield very high-value weapons and Holo Coins. Players can also decide not to ultimately fight Tal-Rey in the final room and get 5 Tomb Keys.
This guide will walk you through the dungeon layout of Tal-Rey’s Tomb and explain the attacks of the final boss. We have also listed the possible loot players stand to get after successfully clearing the dungeon.
Tal-Rey’s Tomb: Vesteria Guide
Fighting in the dungeon will grant you two separate resources:
- Tomb Key: Obtained by taking Tal-Rey’s offer at the end of the dungeon and as a boss drop from Aqrabuamelu Warriors. It is used to open secret rooms. Refer to our layout guide to learn how to access them.
- Holo Coins: The main currency introduced in the update. It can be used to obtain Holo Weapons after completing the dungeon. You can obtain Holo Coins by breaking vases throughout the dungeon or by doing minigames.
How To Reach
Follow these steps:
- Go to the Tal-Rey Tomb Entrance Area from the Whispering Dunes. It is located at the end of the Palace Ruins.
- Talk to Archeologist Ron to start the dungeon. You can learn more about the level by speaking with him as well.
Tal-Rey’s Tomb: Dungeon Layout
The dungeon has five main rooms. Your party has 15 minutes to reach the end. If any of you die in the process, you will enter spectator mode. If you die while fighting the boss, you will respawn after it is killed. Here is the layout:
- Room 1: It is a small room with mobs that include:
- Mummy
- Stingtail
- Dagger Mummy
- Giant Stingtail
- Room 2: This room has a laser beam that damages the players. Activate all six switches and defeat the level 55 boss, Tahammul the Buried. There are two secret rooms here as well:
- Dance Dance Room: Unlocks using 3 Tomb Keys. Complete the rhythm minigame to obtain 10 Holo Coins.
- Mana Scorpentar Room: Requires 10 Tomb Keys to unlock. After completing the obbies, you get to fight the Mana Scorpentar mini-boss.
- Room 3: This room is divided into four smaller rooms. Players have to collect and deposit all four relics in each room.
- Red Relic Room: This room has moving walls and tiles that fall into lava after you step on them. Avoid the laser beam and complete the relic puzzle.
- Yellow Relic Room: Find the relic on the opposite side of the dark room.
- Secret Crusher Room: Unlock using 5 Tomb Keys.
- Blue Relic Room: Lure the Tombwurm to the exploding cactus. Defeat the Tombwurm to find the relic.
- Secret Wind Room: Walk past where you found the Tombwurm to reach a ruin. Unlock the secret ruin behind the ruin with 5 Tomb Keys.
- Green Relic Room: Finish the obby to obtain the relic.
- Room 4: In the penultimate room, you have to defeat the two Aqrabuamelu Warriors.
- Secret Laser Room: Unlocked with 5 Tomb Keys. You can find the entrance in the hallway leading to the Aqrabuamelu Warriors.
- Room 5: The final boss room.
Tal-Rey Boss Fight
When you reach the boss room, the 15-minute timer will stop, and every party member will get to vote on Tal-Rey’s offer. Here is a breakdown of his offer:
- Accept his offer to take 5 Tomb Keys and avoid fighting him.
- Reject his offer and fight him.
Here is a breakdown of the boss fight if your party chooses to fight.
Phase 1
The first phase of the fight is when he is above 3 million health. Tal-Rey starts with 3.3 million hit points. In this phase, he has the following attacks:
- Solar Flare: Knocks back all players in melee range.
- Warp/Blink: The boss teleports around the room.
- Barrage: Tal-Rey fires a barrage of projectiles that explode on impact.
- Frostfire Call: 3 lines of frostfire icicles.
- Solar Ray: One player targeted at random. Cannot be dodged.
- Glyph: Glyphs on the wall attack players.
Phase 2
Once he is below 3 million health, Tal-Rey summons a Sunscorned Giant mob. Players obtain the Relic of Totality buff if they defeat it.
Phase 3
This occurs when the boss is between 2.3 million and 1.3 million hit points.
- Harsh Sun: Summons a sun that deals constant, undodgeable damage to all players. Breaking the line of sight can decrease the amount of damage and stamina drain.
- Scattering Doom: A pillar of damage appears on each player character in the party.
- Crashing Sun: A sun drops on the sun sigil summoned by Tal-Rey.
- Supernova: This is a charged attack that takes 15 seconds. Players must be inside a blue crystal when the attack happens, or they will die.
Phase 4
Tal-Rey enters his last phase when his health is less than 1.3 million. All moves from the previous phase carry over, except Supernova. Here are the new moves:
- Obliterate: Seven crystals are summoned across the arena. Players have to destroy them within a minute to survive.
- Solar Laser: Instant ray of damage that tracks the player. Sever the connection to the boss to lower the damage.
- Room Destruction: Tal-Rey will destroy a part of the arena and throw it at players.
- Hexashield: He summons a shield to intercept all projectiles and hurls it back at players. The shield charges for a time and then explodes. Players can walk through the shield to directly damage him.
