Everything you need to know about the upcoming Gears of War Reloaded’s PC system requirements, including the recommended GPU, and more.

Gears of War is coming back to the limelight, but not in a way that most fans might’ve predicted. Xbox Game Studios is yet to announce a confirmed release date for Gear of War E-Day. However, to make the wait less excruciating, Xbox has remastered the original Gears of War for current-gen consoles and PC. Titled Gears of War Reloaded, the game is an Unreal Engine 3 remaster of the original title.
Although the remaster uses UE3, it comes with some major improvements, including support for 4K resolutions, unlocked frame rates, and improved texture quality. Surprisingly enough, these improvements aren’t locked to the PC version either. Both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions also sport the upgrades.
And despite the Unreal Engine 3 base, the game does require quite beefy specifications, at least for a remaster. Here’s a look at the official PC system requirements for Gears of War Reloaded.
Gears of War Reloaded PC System Requirements

Here are the official PC system requirements for Gears of War Reloaded:
Minimum

- OS: Windows10 – 19H2

Recommended
- Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
- OS: Windows 10 – 22H2 Windows 11 – 24H2
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 (Six-Cores) or Intel i5 Coffee Lake
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5600 or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 / GTX 1660 Ti / RTX 2070
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 70 GB available space
- Sound Card: Windows-compatible audio device
Compared to Gears 5, the remaster is significantly more demanding. This is partly due to the game’s 4K textures and improved lighting engine. Furthermore, based on the specified storage requirements, The Coalition has also remastered the pre-rendered cutscenes, which explains the 70 GB file size. Additionally, based on the system specifications, the game should be perfectly playable on handheld PCs (Steam Deck).
The only issue lower-end systems might end up facing is going to be VRAM-related. The game requires a minimum of 4 GB VRAM. However, UE3 is notorious for using a lot of VRAM, especially at higher resolutions.
However, as long as you have a modern 6C/12T CPU and a similarly capable GPU, you should be able to play the game without any issues.
Gears of War Reloaded Release Date and Platforms

Gears of War Reloaded is scheduled to be released on August 26, 2025. The game will be available on all current-generation platforms, i.e., PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. There have been rumors of a Nintendo Switch 2 version planned for the game as well. However, it has not been confirmed by Xbox Game Studios or The Coalition. Much like the original Gears of War, the remaster will include single-player and multiplayer modes.
Furthermore, there’s an exclusive pre-order cosmetics bundle available for players who pre-purchase the game. Note that the pre-order cosmetics are for use in multiplayer only.
