Nvidia launched the RTX 5050 in many regions for $249, a price point dominated by the AMD Radeon RX 7600. Both are budget GPUs designed to play games at 1080p, and they are excellent at that. The Radeon RX 7600 has already proved it is capable of delivering smooth 60 FPS performance at 1080p in many games, while the RTX 5050 is a new graphics card yet to prove its worth.

In this article, we will compare Nvidia RTX 5050 and AMD Radeon RX 7600 to find out which is the better GPU of the two.

The RTX 5050 is Nvidia’s latest budget GPU, which launched in July 2025. On the other hand, the AMD Radeon RX 7600 launched over two years ago in May 2023. They are both budget 1080p gaming graphics cards, but the RTX 5050 is a much newer GPU, so you would think it would easily beat the other in real-world gaming.

However, instead of assuming one is better than the other, we are going to compare the two graphics cards in various scenarios to find out which is actually better.

Specs Comparison

Here are the specs of the Nvidia RTX 5050 and AMD Radeon RX 7600:

Thermal design power (TDPs)130W165W

The specs of the two graphics cards are quite similar. There is no clear indication showing a real advantage for one GPU over the other in terms of performance. However, the RTX 5050 does appear to be more efficient compared to the Radeon card.

Performance Comparison

Since the RTX 5050 is a brand-new GPU, there are no third-party benchmarks available for this card yet. However, an official Nvidia board partner, Inno3D, has published some estimated real-game benchmark numbers for the RTX 5050 via a Weibo post. This won’t be as accurate as benchmarks from independent sources, but they are still helpful. We will use this data to make an estimated comparison between the RTX 5050 and Radeon RX 7600.

Here are the game benchmarks of RTX 5050 provided by Inno3D at the Weibo post:

GamesRTX 3060RTX 4060RTX 5050
Borderlands 3769086
Far Cry 6103123122
Horizon Zero Dawn99118110
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla8510293

According to the benchmarks, the RTX 5050 is faster than the RTX 3060 but a bit slower than the RTX 4060. The Radeon RX 7600 is also slightly behind the RTX 4060. Therefore, the RTX 5050 and Radeon RX 7600 should be very similar in terms of performance, but the former will be much better when it comes to ray tracing performance.

Price Comparison

The Nvidia RTX 5050 is priced at $249, but as with other RTX 50 series cards, the MSRP can fluctuate. Therefore, there’s a good chance the actual price could be a bit higher. On the other hand, the Radeon RX 7600 is currently available for around $249 at Newegg and regularly sells for $250 to $260 on Amazon.

Final Verdict on Nvidia RTX 5050 vs AMD Radeon RX 7600

The Nvidia RTX 5050 should perform very close to the Radeon RX 7600, as indicated in the benchmarks provided above. The former also supports DLSS 4 Transformer upscaling, which is far superior to the FSR 3 technology in the Radeon RX 7600. The ray tracing performance of the RTX 5050 should also be significantly better.

Therefore, if the Nvidia RTX 5050 manages to sell at $249, it is the better GPU of the two. However, if it sells closer to $280 or higher and the Radeon RX 7600 is readily available at $249, then you should consider the RX 7600 instead.
