The Starfire Shovel is currently the best shovel in Dig, offering massive luck and strong stats for serious grinders. But it’s not something you can just buy straightaway. Getting it requires time, preparation, and some tough battles. If you’re aiming to max out your digging power, here’s everything you need to know to unlock this rare shovel.
You’ll need to complete the Magma Boots quest and defeat the Molten Monstrosity boss before you even get the chance to find it. We’ve already covered how to get the Solstice Shovel and how to defeat the Molten Monstrosity boss, both of which are required for this.
Steps To Unlock the Starfire Shovel in Dig Roblox
Here is a simple step-by-step guide on how to unlock the Starfire Shovel in Dig:
Step 1: Unlock the Second Island
To begin, you’ll need to take the ferry to the second island.
- Unlock 50% of your Journal from the first island.
- Head to Cinder Shorelines.
- Pay $3,000 for the ferry.
Once you arrive, you’ll need to complete the Magma Boots quest. This quest is given by the NPC in the jungle settlement near the volcano.
Step 2: Complete the Magma Boots Quest
To finish the Magma Boots quest, you must:
- Reach Level 50
- Dig 1,000 items
- Defeat 10 bosses
- Obtain the Solstice Shovel
This is one of the longest quests in the game, so it’s best to start early. You can follow our full guide on how to get the Solstice Shovel if you need help. Once completed, you’ll receive the Magma Boots, which give you heat-proof protection and let you safely enter the volcano.
Step 3: Defeat the Molten Monstrosity
Inside the volcano, the Molten Monstrosity boss is located at the top of the path. To fight him:
- Buy a Blue Moon Horn from the Tiki Shop for $200,000.
- Equip it and walk up to the boss. Hold E to wake him.
- He has 350,000 HP and a 20-minute timer.
You cannot defeat him solo; at least 2–3 players with Magma Boots are recommended. Use Monarch Totems to increase boss damage and bring your strongest shovel (Prismatic works well). Once you defeat him, you unlock the ability to find the Starfire Shovel.
Step 4: Wait for a Meteor Shower
After beating the boss, you’ll need to wait for a Meteor Shower event. These happen randomly, about once every 1–2 hours. When a meteor lands:
- You’ll see a notification, like “A meteor has landed in Copper Messa.”
- Go to that location immediately.
- Check the meteor for loot.
The Starfire Shovel is a rare drop. You won’t always find it, so you may need to server hop during meteor showers until it appears.

Compared to the Prismatic Shovel, the Starfire Shovel has:
- Control: 9
- Strength: 10
- Haste: Same as Prismatic
- Luck: 30 (10 more than Prismatic)
- Boss Damage: 60
If you’re using the Prismatic Domino Crown, the difference is even smaller, but the Starfire’s raw luck makes it the best shovel in the game for rare finds. The Starfire Shovel is a serious endgame tool that rewards players who’ve completed every major quest, conquered the hardest boss, and waited patiently through meteor events.
