Celestial is one of the best AOE damage spells in Diablo 4 Season 9 and can be customized even further with Infusions and Arcanas.
Diablo 4 has always had an impressive selection of spells on offer, and this selection is now at its best with new additions for Season 9. Diablo 4 Season 9 throws in five new Horadric spells into the mix, and you now have new builds you can build off from that. If you’re someone who struggles with crowd control and needs a spell that can deal with mobs easily, Celestial Surge is the spell for you.
Celestial Surge is a Catalyst-type Horadric spell introduced in Diablo 4 Season 9. This spell awakens an Oraclar Rune that pulls in all surrounding enemies into a cluster. Once they’re all together, a barrage of stars then randomly strikes the area 20 times for 15,662 damage each. With only a 15-second cooldown, you can do some real damage with this spell.

How To Get Celestial Surge in Diablo 4 Season 9
The Celestial Surge Horadric spell is a Tier 1 reward on the Horadric Focus board in the game. Therefore, to unlock the spell, you need to claim it from the Tier 1 section of the board. The Horadric Focus is part of the seasonal content for Season 9; therefore, you’ll have to meet a few conditions before you can access it:
- Firstly, you’ll have to complete the base game and make a seasonal character.
- Once you’re on the Season 9 content, you’ll have to begin the seasonal questline by talking to Bryona.
- Progress through the quest and complete your first Horadric Strongroom.
- Once you clear your first strongroom and complete the quest, you’ll have access to Horadric Focus.
Once you have access to the board, you can unlock the Tier 1 reward by using Horadric Knowledge. You gain Horadric Knowledge by completing Horadric Strongrooms and Nightmare Dungeons. Farm these dungeons, and you’ll have the necessary Horadric Knowledge in no time, which you can then use to unlock the Celestial Surge.
