The Nebulous Extract in Diablo 4 is a Season 9 Infusion that modifies Catalyst-type spells to deal Shadow and/or Corrupting damage.
Diablo 4 has always put player freedom front and center, and if you’re a player who uses spells, you’ve seen this unprecedented freedom firsthand. There are tons of spells providing a variety of ways to deal with enemies. Season 9 takes this a step further by introducing new spells into the mix. While these spells are powerful in their own right, they never quite reach their full potential without the Infusions.
Infusions in Diablo 4 are modifications that change how your spells perform in battle. The Nebulous Extract is one such Infusion introduced in Season 9 and is a game-changer for Shadow/Corrupting damage builds.
The Nebulous Extract modifies your Catalyst-type spells to deal Shadow and/or Corrupting damage. Furthermore, the Infusion debuffs the enemy by reducing their damage by 5.5% for 7 seconds. To add to that, the Shadow Damage Bonus is raised to match your highest Damage Type Bonus.

How To Get Nebulous Extract in Diablo 4 Season 9
You unlock the Nebulous Extract Infusion by completing The Unseeable Demands Their Gaze quest in Diablo 4. This quest is part of the new Season 9 questline. You unlock this quest right after the Reopening the Wound quest in the game.
To begin The Unseeable Demands Their Gaze quest, talk to Davish in Cerrigar. He will inform you that Bryona has run away and request you to bring her back. He then directs you toward the Horadric Vault, which is where you need to go.

Head to the vault and talk to Bryona. After that, you’ll have to collect Donan’s drafts in the area. Then head into a Nightmare Dungeon and proceed until you find a strongroom. Clear the strongroom and retrieve the Blood Relic inside to complete the quest. Completing the quest will unlock the Nebulous Extract Infusion, and you can use it to modify spells.
