If you have encountered a Leyak in Abiotic Factor, chances are you have made significant progress. On your first encounter with a Leyak, it may have given you a jump scare by spawning right in front of you, before obliterating you quickly.
This is a frustrating feat, to say the least. However, getting rid of this annoying mutant is not very difficult. In this article, we will discuss how to eliminate a Leyak in Abiotic Factor.
Leyak in Abiotic Factor
You will start encountering Leyaks after reaching the XR Containment in Cascade Laboratories. Being an element of the flesh, this hostile entity is not going to win any beauty contests. This hovering creature almost always looks straight at you.
The Leyak has interesting and unsettling mechanics. It will only move when it is out of your direct line of sight or if you are beyond a certain distance. Partial obstructions, e.g., windows, also count as ‘not being in the line of sight,’ and are not enough to halt its progress. However, the Leyak cannot pass through walls. On the other hand, it can pass through open doors and even your deployables. However, it cannot kick doors open, and if your deployable prevents a door from opening fully, a Leyak cannot pass through. It makes a sound resembling sighs or moans when near.
They are really persistent. Once they target you, they will even plague your dreams while you sleep.
How To Take Down a Leyak
To keep the Leyaks at bay, use tools like the X-Ray Tower or X-Ray Lamp. Another way to repel it is by looking directly with nothing in the way. Make sure there is no door, window, or fence in the line of sight. If you keep staring at it, the Leyak will slowly fade and vanish after about 10 to 30 seconds.
To obtain Leyak Essence, you require an X-Ray Lamp. You will get the crafting idea from a console in the Control Center of the Cascade Laboratories. This console is accessible after escaping the Furniture Store.
Making an X-Ray Lamp
To make the X-Ray Lamp, you will require the following ingredients:
- 1x X-Ray Tower
- 2x Jailbroken CPU
- 1x Leyak Essence.
It can only be obtained through crafting. You must get the first Leyak Essence by luring it to an X-Ray Tower.
