Cronos The New Dawn is easily one of the most highly anticipated games of 2025, especially for survival horror fans. The biggest reason behind the excitement surrounding the game is Cronos’ developers themselves, Bloober Team. The Polish studio had a major success last year with the Silent Hill 2 Remake, which ended up being one of Konami’s best-selling games in recent memory. While Silent Hill 2 Remake wasn’t perfect, it was a major step up in terms of quality compared to Bloober Team’s previous titles. And with Cronos The New Dawn, the studio once again aims to deliver a similar level of quality. While the game was announced back at the start of 2024, it only recently received a confirmed release date.
With the game being just a few weeks away from release, fans might be thinking of pre-ordering Cronos. However, as is the case with most modern releases, pre-ordering Cronos can be a tad confusing due to its various editions, bonuses, and more. Should You Pre-Order Cronos The New Dawn Deluxe Edition?
Ideally, it’s always best to purchase the Standard Edition of a game, especially if it’s a new IP. If the game turns out to be good, you can always upgrade to the Deluxe Edition via an upgrade pack at a later date. However, considering the asking price of Cronos, getting the Deluxe Edition isn’t a bad idea. The base game is priced at $60, which isn’t usual for Triple-A releases. Most Triple-A games nowadays charge $70 for the base version.
There are even examples of games such as Mario Kart World or the upcoming The Outer Worlds 2, which are priced at $80 for the Standard Edition. However, Cronos is priced at $60, with the Deluxe Edition being $70.
Moreover, for the extra $10, you’re getting a good selection of exclusive cosmetics for the Traveller (protagonist) as well as the artbook and soundtrack (digital). Furthermore, pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition grants 48-hour early access to the game. Cronos is scheduled to be released on September 5, 2025. However, if you pre-order the Deluxe Edition, you can start playing the game on September 3, 2025.
