How To Find the Mesa
As mentioned earlier, Mesa is the newest biome introduced in the latest update. With the release of the Mesa update on August 11, 2025, it was announced that the Mesa biome would temporarily replace the Alpine biome for one week. That means you will encounter the Mesa biome as Level 3 during this period. After the initial week, you will randomly come across either the Mesa biome or the Alpine biome at Level 3.
How To Beat the Mesa Biome
Once you enter the Mesa biome, the first challenge you will face is the scorching heat. Fortunately, the game provides a few items to help you handle it, including Sunscreen and the Parasol. After dealing with the heat, the next major obstacle is the dust storms.
These storms bring high-speed swirling winds that sweep through everything in their path. Unfortunately, there is not much you can do to counter them. So, make sure to stay outside the tornado’s range.
Once you have dealt with the natural hazards, the biome’s fauna is another threat you should not overlook. In the Mesa biome, you will encounter Scorpions, which can poison you if you get too close. When you spot one, simply pick it up and throw it at a distance.
Apart from the fauna, desert plants like cacti can also pose a problem. If you get stuck in one, its needles will quickly drain your stamina. Therefore, it is recommended to remove the thorns as soon as possible to minimize the effect.
Additionally, you will find Pickaxes in the biome that will seem to help you during the climb. These tools are temporary and can break without warning. Therefore, it is best not to rely on them completely, as a break could end your expedition.
