Learn how to find the Tomb hidden in Peak’s Mesa biome, overcome its challenges, and obtain the Ancient Idol within.

The Mesa is a mountainous desert biome that randomly replaces the Alpine biome as the third level in Peak. It is fitting that Peak’s developers have juxtaposed the frosty Alpines against the torrid Mesa for the game’s third stage. The Mesa features a sandy landscape filled with the dangers of ravaging tornadoes, the scorching sun, and thorny cacti.
However, below the arid sands, a powerful secret awaits vigilant treasure seekers. The Mesa biome’s secret is a hidden underground Tomb containing an Ancient Idol (Golden Bing Bong).

How To Find the Tomb in Peak

The location of the Tomb in the Mesa biome depends on the active seed for the map on a particular day. The entrance to the Tomb is an unassuming hole in the ground. Descend into the narrow crater to find a passage leading further underground. The passage is crafted from stone, and it leads to the Tomb’s entrance with a torch mounted at its arch.
Depending on the seed, there is a chance that the entrance to the Tomb may be inaccessible via unmodded means. If you are unable to locate the Tomb or find it blocked by terrain, the only legitimate way to access it is to replay the biome once the seed is refreshed.
Navigating the Tomb and Finding the Ancient Idol
The Tomb entrance is often obstructed by rocks, which you’ll have to climb, squeezing through the gaps between them. After making your way through narrow, maze-like passageways, you’ll come upon a chasm with a few rocks on either side.
Chasm

Sprint and jump toward the nearest rock jutting out of the wall. Then, climb ahead by gripping the wall toward the next platform. Jump toward the platform and only grab onto the wall at the last second to preserve your stamina. You should have more than 60% of your stamina meter undamaged to have a high chance of climbing through to the end. Climb the pillars on either side to reach the height of the exit and jump to it.
Ancient Idol Chamber

After crossing the chasm, you’ll finally reach the Ancient Idol chamber. A sloping rock bridge descends to a square platform with four pillars on each corner and the Ancient Idol (Golden Bing Bong) at its center. You can pick up the Ancient Idol and leave through the exit, located under the bridge you crossed.
The Ancient Idol negates all damage as long as you’re holding it. You’ll also need the Ancient Idol to complete a special mission in The Kiln and unlock the 24 Karat Badge.
