PEAK’s new update is out, bringing a new biome, new achievements, and many quality-of- life improvements. One of these QoL updates is the Bug Phobia mode, accessible through the game’s settings. This mode allows you to change how bugs appear by switching their in-game textures to look like Bing Bong, the mascot of Peak. To help you out, here’s how you can activate the Bug Phobia mode in Peak.

Firstly, make sure you have updated your game to v. 1.20. This allows you to access the brand-new settings. You can do so by simply navigating to the Library on Steam and then under Downloads. Once PEAK is updated, follow the steps below:

  • Run PEAK to reach the starting menu of the game.
  • Open the Settings.
  • Navigate to Accessibility.
  • Switch Bug Phobia Mode to On for the changes to take effect.

You can follow the same steps to turn off the Bug Phobia Mode if you wish to play the game as intended.

The main advantage of the Bug Phobia Mode is that you can easily spot insects due to their green Bing Bong texture. This makes spotting ticks in the Tropics biome much easier. Ticks at early stages are hard to detect and can make climbing difficult. Additionally, you can wear darker dresses to make spotting ticks even easier.
