The RTX 4090 laptop GPU, featuring 16GB VRAM, is one of the fastest laptop GPUs you can find on the market. Although it has been replaced by the RTX 5090, the performance difference between the two isn’t worth writing home about. The situation is entirely different for the desktop 4090 and the desktop 5090. That aside, below are a few games that you can max out, stay within the 16GB VRAM buffer, and have an enjoyable experience.

Dishonored 2 is a decently optimized game for PC hardware. The RTX 4090 laptop GPU is more than enough to deliver very high framerates. The level design, the character development, and the fighting mechanics are all on another level; even modern titles do not provide this level of gameplay. There are other titles you can play. Still, assuming your laptop has a 4K or 1440p high refresh rate display, this game can easily be maxed out, fully utilizing your monitor’s refresh rate to its maximum potential.

2. Prey (2017)

It goes without saying that Prey is a masterpiece title released back in 2017. It’s another older title we’ve included simply because you can max out everything, and even then enjoy super high framerates, and that too without worrying about VRAM running out. If you’re into horror games, exploring space stations, and want to hunt down aliens, Prey is for you.

3. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus (2017)

If you are a fan of the DOOM series, then the Wolfenstein games should also attract you. The game engine used in this title is the id Tech 6, and in terms of optimization, it never falls short of praise. Max out every slider, resolution, anti-aliasing, and other settings, with no issues for the 4090 laptop GPU. The entire experience will be just the same, as if you were playing on a high-end gaming PC.

4. Dying Light (2015)

You can try both Dyling Light 2015 and the new remaster; both games are extremely well optimized. The newer titles bring in higher resolution textures, DLSS support, and more goodness. As for framerates and hitting VRAM limits, there is no reason to worry, as 16GB of memory is plenty for these two titles.

5. God of War: Ragnarok

Like the original title, God of War: Ragnarok is also incredibly well optimized. It is very heavy on the GPU and CPU. Graphically, it’s one of the best-looking games as of now. It plays well, runs well, and has an emotional storyline. Laptop RTX 4090 users can either play games at max settings, averaging 60 FPS, or utilize aggressive upscaling and frame generation to enjoy high-refresh rate gaming.

Verdict

All the titles mentioned above will run without any issues on the RTX 4090 laptops. Only God of War: Ragnarok, at maxed out settings, may require upscaling to achieve high framerates with consistent 1% and 0.1% lows.
