Read more to know about what the Javelin anti-cheat system does in Battlefield 6 and why the game needs it.

Battlefield 6 has an anti-cheat called Javelin. It is one of the countermeasures EA has implemented on top of the Secure Boot Requirement. This prevents potential in-game cheats and suspicious malware from accessing the game. These cheats can ruin the gameplay experience by undermining fair competition. While not a necessarily perfect anti-cheat, it has reportedly prevented a lot of cheaters from accessing the game. The feature could record improvements, too, so we can expect it to get more efficient as the day passes.
With that said, here is what you need to know about Javelin anti-cheat in Battlefield 6.

What is Javelin Anti-Cheat in Battlefield 6?

EA has added anti-cheat systems, like Javelin in Battlefield 6, to keep players from tampering with the game and ruining the gameplay experience. Most players are fine with having this system in place. It simply runs in the background, checking for any potential tampering of the game.
However, players have reported concerns about the game requiring secure boot. It checks for any unauthorized or malicious programs and prevents them from booting up before the game runs. The developers shared the reason why secure boot is necessary and assured players that this is only to combat cheaters. According to an official post from EA Forums, AC from the SPEAR Anti-Cheat Team explained why you need secure boot to access the game.
“Secure Boot is how you’re helping us build up our arsenal. It’s another barrier that helps us make it harder for cheat developers to create cheat programs, and makes it easier for us to detect it when they do.”
Cheaters in multiplayer games ruin the experience for most players. They turn what should be a fail, skill-based match into an unfair and frustrating encounter. This is why anti-cheats are required to prevent, or at least reduce the amount of cheaters in the game.
He further explained that Javelin, the anti-cheat for Battlefield 6, has prevented around 330,000 attempts to cheat or tamper with the game. As the beta phase continues, these countermeasures are being improved to be much smarter in detecting potential cheaters in the game.
