Throwing a Knife in Mafia The Old Country
In Mafia The Old Country, you will not immediately begin with the ability to throw a knife. This is part of a combat upgrade that Enzo will be introduced to in Chapter 5, “A Blade in the Dark.” During this mission, you will learn all about stealth takedowns with the use of a knife. After this, the ability will be unlocked for the type of knife that provides this special ability.
There are three types of knives in Mafia The Old Country, and the Scannaturi will have the special ability. While throwing knives are a great way to clear out areas while remaining off the enemy’s radar, overusing the move could affect the durability of the knife. Each throw depletes a single durability bar, so use it sparingly when most needed.
Steps To Learn How To Throw a Knife
- From your inventory, equip any of the Scannaturi type of knives. These could be Scannaturi, Viperi, Agghiri, Tigri, or Lupu.
- Now sneak behind an enemy and aim your crosshair directly at their head. Make sure to be in close proximity, as Mafia The Old Country follows the law of physics literally. This means that if you are too far, the knife will drop and not hit your target.
- Once in range, the crosshair to execute the hit will appear on the screen, after which you can press the “F” button to throw the knife.
After throwing the knife, simply walk up to it and pick it back up. You will notice a bar of durability drained from it. This is a handy skill, especially in areas with many enemies where stealth is the only practical option.
