The RTX 5060 is the new mainstream GPU from Nvidia, incorporating the Blackwell GPU Architecture and with upgraded 8GB GDDR7 memory. The 5060 is significantly faster than the 4060, but has the same limited VRAM of 8GB. 2025’s AAA games and mainstream GPUs do not play along well, which is why the list below targets well-optimized titles that can be maxed out without VRAM being a limitation.

1. State of Decay 2 (2018)

If you are into base building and zombie survival, this single-player experience is for you. State of Decay 2 is the perfect game to play on your RTX 5060. You can play this co-op too, but most gamers prefer soloing this game because the horror amplifies when you’re alone, and unexpected jump scares are a core aspect of this game.

2. Metro Exodus (2019)

Both Metro Exodus and Metro Exodus Enhanced editions are incredible single-player sci-fi horror titles for your RTX 5060. The 8GB VRAM won’t run out if you tone down the settings to a mix of medium and high, and also enable RT in the process. For a higher framerate, you can go with DLSS and frame generation combined. 

3. The Evil Within 2 (2017)

Yet another classic single-player horror title you can enjoy at maxed-out settings. Additionally, jumpscares are a big plus point of this game. The optimization in VRAM usage allows you to even play at 1440p and stay below and usage of 6GB VRAM. If you have enough performance headroom, you can add the ReShade mod, which will change the look and feel of the game, and it will be much more resource-intensive than stock.

4. Dead Island 2 (2023)

After two years of optimization, the game runs much better than it did on launch. As for VRAM usage, you can dial in mid-high settings and stay below 8GB at all times in 1080p resolution. Gameplay and combat-wise, it’s one of the most enjoyable and addictive titles ever released. You can try Dead Island 1 remastered, which has been updated with better textures and can be maxed out on your 5060 without breaking a sweat.

5. Days Gone

Days Gone is one of the most optimized titles in a decade. It’s built on Unreal Engine 4 and possesses an incredible storyline, gameplay, and thrilling combat. As for settings, you can max everything out and never drop below 60FPS, and the VRAM utilization will be below 8GB. If you’re experiencing stuttering, try reducing some settings and monitoring stats with Steam Overlay to see how things fare.

Verdict

All of the games mentioned here will run flawlessly on your RTX 5060 desktop. Except for Days Gone, all of these titles should also be playable if you wish to install mods from Nexus Mods, such as ReShade, which can entirely overhaul the look and feel of the game. As for the stock high or maxed out settings, as long as you are within the VRAM range, you should be good to go.
