In this guide, we’ll dive deep into Aspects in Abyssus and how they work. We’ll also detail all available Aspects.

Abyssus is a four-player co-op roguelite that promises tons of fun across its several handcrafted levels. There are some intense enemies, where you’ll need your wits about you to survive. Also, you can explore each level in search of hidden treasures and secrets, which might lead to new and more powerful weapons. Your explorations might also cause you to come across Altars from which you can gain Blessings.
All of the available Blessings in the game fall under Aspects. Think of Aspects as categories of improvements, whereas Blessings are the specific upgrades you pick. In the following guide, we’ll explore more about Aspects in Abyssus and the different kinds of Aspects available in the game.
Understanding Aspects in Abyssus

Aspects are randomly generated categories of Blessings that you’ll get when you interact with the Altars in the game. You can use the Aspects and their associated Blessings to improve various parts of your build, such as Defense, Damage Output, Damage Type, and more. However, keep in mind that any Aspect and associated Blessings you pick during a run won’t carry over to your next run. So, you’ll need to start over whenever you begin a fresh run of the game.
Upon interacting with an Altar, you’ll first need to select an Aspect category, followed by a Blessing from that category. You will get two Blessing choices, regardless of which Aspect category you pick. You can decide to slot in the Blessing in one of three available slots every time.
- Primary Fire: The Blessing’s effect will modify the primary fire from your weapons.
- Secondary Fire: The Blessing’s effect will modify the secondary fire from your weapons.
- Ability: The Blessing’s effect will modify your chosen ability or sub-weapon.
Every third time you choose to slot in a Blessing from the same Aspect Category, you will receive a Minor Blessing. Every sixth time you slot in a Blessing from an Aspect category, you will get a Major Blessing. Both Minor and Major Blessings are powerful ability upgrades that sync well with Charms.
