The Corndog is a new cooking recipe introduced in the Beanstalk Event Update (1.19.0) of Grow a Garden. While Chris P. Bacon’s cravings are no longer the main cooking focus, the devs have fully integrated the Cooking Kit mechanic into the core game. Corndog is especially important because it is required to craft the Pet Pouch, a new gear item that expands your pet inventory slots. With multiple recipe variations divided by rarity, players will need to collect ingredients like Corn, Peppers, and Giant Pinecones to craft this rare food.

What Is Corndog Used for in Grow a Garden?
- Crafting Pet Pouches: Each Pet Pouch increases pet inventory slots. You can expand from 60 up to 110 total slots.
- Event Rewards: Previously given to Chris P. Bacon during Cooking Events for unique rewards. Although he’s not currently on the map, future events may bring him back.
How To Cook Corndog in Grow a Garden
Cooking Corndog requires the Cooking Kit, which can be unlocked via achievements and placed in your garden.
- Unlock the Cooking Kit:
- Complete tier achievements (Common, Rare, or Mythical) to obtain it.
- Place it using your cosmetics inventory.
- Collect Ingredients:
- Gather crops like Corn, Pepper, Giant Pinecone, Bone Blossom, or special plants depending on the recipe.
- Add Ingredients:
- Equip a crop, then walk up to the Cooking Pot.
- Interact to add it into the pot.
- Added items appear in the ingredient list on the left.
- Cook the Corndog:
- Press the Cook button.
- Cooking can be skipped for 39 Robux if you don’t want to wait.
- Interact with the kit again to collect the finished Corndog.
Tip: You can remove all ingredients before cooking by pressing Empty, which refunds them back to you.

Is Making Corndog Worth It?
Making Corndogs is worth it if you want to expand your pet inventory slots. Crafting 50 Corndogs allows you to unlock up to 50 Pet Pouches, raising your pet cap from 60 to 110. However, the cost is steep since Giant Pinecones are required in nearly every recipe, making each Corndog extremely expensive (roughly 65M coins or more in resources).
- Worth it: If you are an active collector who constantly runs out of pet slots.
- Not worth it: If you’re casual or don’t need extra storage, the cost outweighs the benefit.
The Corndog is one of the most resource-heavy items in Grow a Garden but also one of the most rewarding if you’re aiming for long-term pet collection growth. Start farming Giant Pinecones early if you plan to max out your Pet Pouches.
