Everdark Equilibrious Beast, aka Libra, Creature of Night, is easily one of the toughest challenges in Elden Ring Nightreign. The boss is an amalgamation of its regular counterpart and bosses like the Looking Glass Knight (Dark Souls 2) and The Old Monk (Demon’s Souls). And for a battle as hectic as this, your best choices are Nightfarers that offer the superior defense. And when it comes to sheer defense, there’s no better choice than Guardian.

However, considering the limited mobility as well as reliance on guard counters, Guardian might seem like an odd choice for Everdark Libra. However, with the right set of Relics and a bit of RNG luck, you can make Guardian work wonders against the new boss. Here’s a comprehensive guide on the best Guardian build for Everdark Equilibrious Beast in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Guardian has a very different playstyle compared to other Nightfarers. While you can technically use Guardian for all-out offense, he’s meant to be a more defensive character. And to supplement his playstyle, the Guardian has some really impressive survivability-related stats. Ideally, we would recommend using Augur’s Relic to boost Vigor, but with Guardian’s S-scaling in HP, you won’t necessarily need it. Instead, you can use character-specific Relics that boost Guardian’s guard counters and thrusting counterattacks.

Additionally, we highly recommend using Relics that boost Guardian’s poise as well as Endurance. As for damage, you want to use Holy for Libra. While Vyke’s Spear is the best choice here, it’s also a weapon that’s incredibly rare. And the next best choice for Libra are weapons that deal Fire or Holy damage.

Tips To Use the Guardian Build for Everdark Equilibrious Beast

Here are some tips that will help you use the Guardian build against the Everdark Equilibrious Beast:

  • The challenge in the battle against Libra comes from the sheer chaos that ensues after the Condemned are summoned. However, with the Guardian, you will have a relatively easier time dealing with the NPCs. Guardian’s passive ability allows him to block almost all attacks.

  • Additionally, bonus counterattack damage means your charged guard counters will easily stagger the Condemned.

  • Do note that Guardian has a very limited dodge. As such, always keep an eye on Libra’s Madness sigils. If you see one spawn underneath the Guardian, dodge three times to the back. Also, do note that you can cancel the dodge animation into a power block.

  • As a Guardian, you don’t need to focus on dealing damage. Just make sure you are keeping the Condemned occupied and distracted. Your team members can then focus on attacking the Nightlord.

Additional Notes

For Shifting Earth, we highly recommend either Noklateo, for better Legendary drops, or Rotted Woods, for the HP and defense buff. You can also use the Crater for an instant Legendary weapon. However, in practice, we found the Noklateo and Rotted Woods buffs to be more useful against Libra.
