Activision has finally unveiled the Black Ops 7 Vault Edition. Right after the Opening Night Live showcase at Gamescom 2025, the pre-orders for Black Ops 7 went live. Currently, there are two distinct variants of the game up for purchase – Standard Edition and Vault Edition. As the name would suggest, the Standard Edition will ship with just the base game. The Vault Edition, on the other hand, will deliver the “premium” Call of Duty experience, featuring additional pieces of content along with the base game.

If you are a hardcore Call of Duty fan who wishes to explore all aspects of the game, then sure, the Vault Edition is worth it. But if you are someone who only tends to play on weekends or after a long day at school/work, then it might not be worth the money.
From a value standpoint, you are actually saving money by buying the Vault Edition. Traditionally, the BlackCell Battle Pass upgrade alone will cost you $30 in the game. However, if you purchase the Vault Edition, you are not just getting the BlackCell Battle Pass upgrade, but also additional MasterCraft Operator skins and Weapon Blueprints at the same price.
But as mentioned earlier, it all depends on you, the player. Usually, it is the hardcore fanbase that is more likely to buy the BlackCell upgrade and spend time progressing the Battle Pass. The casual player won’t be spending too much time on the title. Hence, even if they acquire the BlackCell upgrade, it may not be worth it for them.
The Standard Edition delivers the complete Black Ops 7 experience without the additional bells and whistles. Sure, a few extra cosmetics are nice to have.
