In this guide, we shall go over the best modifications to use for the Ice Nova Storm skill in Titan Quest 2.
Titan Quest 2 is out in Early Access and comes with four different Masteries at launch. Each of these Masteries plays differently, and they are all equally viable on paper. Despite that, the Storm Mastery emerges as the current best the game has to offer. A large part of this is due to the skills the Mastery provides, one of which is Ice Nova.
Ice Nova is an AOE skill that deals 24 Cold Damage in a 4.0-meter radius around you. While this sounds fine, you can make it even stronger with a few modifications. If you are unsure of what to pick, our guide lists the best modifications Ice Nova has to offer.

Flash Freeze
The Flash Freeze modification for Ice Nova guarantees a Freeze upon use. This means that every time you use the skill, you will Freeze everyone in a 4.0-meter radius. On its own, this does not do much. But pair it with the Frost Explosion modification for Ice Shards, and you have a nuclear explosion in your hands. This is by far the best way to eliminate entire mobs in one go. Take note, however, that it adds 7 seconds to the cooldown.
Enhanced Freeze
While freezing is one of your main objectives when using Ice Nova, a little extra damage goes a long way in dealing with foes. The Enhanced Freeze modification increases the damage of Ice Nova by 20%, killing weaker enemies right away. Furthermore, it also increases the Freeze duration by 0.2 seconds, which you can increase further by upgrading it. You get extra damage and longer Freeze time. What’s not to love?

Freezing Blast
If you are precise with your movements and can navigate your way around mobs, the Freezing Blast might be a modification worth using. This modification turns Ice Nova from a circular explosion into a cone-based blast. The cone is 60 degrees wide, extends +1.0 meters in distance, deals 20 percent extra damage, and has a 5 percent chance to Freeze. This is the best way to use the skill if you can handle large crowds.
