Everything you need to know about the best Raider build and Relics for Everdark Tricephalos in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Everdark Tricephalos is easily one of, if not the toughest, Everdark Sovereign Nightlord in Elden Ring Nightreign. Much like Everdark Adel, Gladius, Beast of Night gets a massive damage and defense buff against affinity damage type. As such, you might find Nightfarers like Ironeye and Duchess somewhat struggling against the new Gladius. At the same time, it’s a boss that feels purpose-built for characters like Raider. While Everdark Gladius isn’t a cakewalk for the Raider, it certainly becomes a much easier boss to deal with. Most importantly, if you’re doing solo runs for Everdark Gladius, you will find Raider to be the most well-suited for the task, albeit with an optimized Relics loadout.
Here’s a comprehensive guide on the best Raider build for Everdark Tricephalos in Elden Ring Nightreign.
Overview of the Best Raider Build for Everdark Tricephalos in Elden Ring Nightreign

For the Raider build, we’ve primarily focused on Vigor and damage negation. You can also use Holy damage buffs. However, considering the amount of damage Gladius can dish out in the second phase, damage negation is your best bet here. Furthermore, having additional Vigor can help you stay on the battlefield for longer, without having to rely on heals and Wending Grace frequently. As for additional passives, you can pick up Colossal Weapon Attack Up, Holy Attack Up, Physical Attack Up, Stance-break buff on using two armaments, etc. Do note that with Raider, we recommend starting the Everdark Tricephalos Expedition with at least 400 Vigor.
Having 400 Vigor gives you enough headroom to get through Day 1 rather easily. Additionally, we highly recommend stacking a few Taking Damage Boosts Damage Negation passives (via Relics or weapons) as well. Raider is a character that’s built around the idea of taking damage to gain buffs. As such, damage boost buffs go a long way in ensuring Raider’s survivability.

Tips To Use the Raider Build Against Everdark Tricephalos

Here are some tips that will help you use the Raider build efficiently against Everdark Tricephalos:
- Raider is always best paired with two Colossal Weapons. While you can use Greataxes and even Greatswords as well, the Nightfarer is best suited for Colossal Weapons. Furthermore, due to Raider’s poise, he doesn’t flinch easily, making it easier to land successive hits.
- As such, we recommend keeping an eye out for Colossal Weapons, and also retaining your starting armament till Day 2, unless you end up finding other Colossal Weapons. Jump attacks paired with Colossal Weapons deal enormous amounts of physical, affinity, and poise damage.
- Dual Colossal Weapons is how you’re going to be defeating Tricephalos. Additionally, make sure to visit at least one mine for an Epic Smithing Stone. We highly recommend using Crater Shifting Earth, upgrading one of the Colossal Weapons to Legendary, and saving the Smithing Stone for the other.
- Level 14-15 and at least two Epic (if not Legendary) tier Colossal Weapons are necessary to defeat Tricephalos. You can go by with Level 13 in solo runs, but for co-op, you need to hit Level 14 for the Vigor and Endurance boost.
- Against Tricephalos’s first phase, Raider shouldn’t have too much trouble, since the boss has lower poise. However, in the second phase, you will need to time your dodges to stay alive. For the ground slam AOE, we recommend simply holding block or running as far away from Tricephalos as possible.
- Lastly, make sure to grab a few Jump Attack buffs, which will help break Gladius’s poise more easily.
Additional Notes
If you’re using the Raider build for solo Expeditions, we recommend replacing the Night of Fathom Relic with Dark Night of Fathom.
