In this guide, we shall go over how to beat General Berude in The Rogue Prince of Persia, one of the early bosses in the game.

The Rogue Prince of Persia is by far one of the hardest Prince of Persia games ever, and a big reason for this is its roguelike nature. You’re expected to face the bosses over and over again, dying at each attempt till you finally vanquish them.
General Berude is one of the bosses you’ll face early on and is likely to be the first big roadblock you hit. Berude blitzes around the arena, hits hard, and is seemingly unpredictable with her moves. In order to beat General Berude, you need to be able to read her like a book, and that’s what this guide is for.

General Berude has a complex moveset that she mixes and matches in order to beat you. You have to be able to identify her moves and counter them accordingly, so we’ve listed them out for you.
- Charge Attack: General Berude will teleport to one edge of the arena and charge across like a bull. Jump over the bull and let her crash into the wall. This will chip off a rock from the wall. Kick this rock onto her to deal damage and stun her. This attack will get rid of her shield.
- Ground Pound: General Berude will let out a roar and start pounding away at the ground. This will send shockwaves in your direction, which you can then jump over. The boss will tire herself out at the end of the attack, leaving her vulnerable.
- Ground Slam: The boss will leap into the air and slam into the ground thrice. Stay away to avoid this attack. Attack when the boss tires herself out.
Once you bring the boss’s HP down to half, she will let out a roar and smash the wall in the background. Her attacks will then get faster and will last longer. Still, the fundamentals of dealing with the attack will remain the same. Stick to countering the moves above and you’re golden.
