How To Unlock the Secret Boss in Abyssus
To get to this boss, you will need to use a Deep Water modifier. At your basecamp, choose the modifier marked “boss got additional skills.” This unlocks an extra phase for the boss, usually when you’re around Deep Water level 10 or higher. You will need to defeat the standard boss here, after which the battle will continue as a secret phase begins. During this additional stage, the boss’s mechanics will change drastically, and you can expect much more of a challenge this time around.
How To Defeat the Secret Boss in Abyssus

The following are some mechanics of the Secret Boss you should know before beginning the fight.
- The boss will dive into the water while charging up, and it becomes immune to any damage during this time.
- Don’t be fooled by the empty HP bar when the Boss is submerged in water. They will regain the HP bar as soon as they emerge from underwater.
- Make sure you attack as soon as it re-emerges. You will have a short window during which you must maximize your damage. After a few seconds, the boss will again become immune.
- The last quarter of the boss’s health is the toughest to drain. That’s because if you can’t exhaust their health quickly enough, they will unleash an enraged attack that will kill you instantly.
So, we suggest reserving most of your abilities and other cooldowns for the last quarter of the battle. Also, right before the boss emerges from the water, make sure to drop a few shields and turrets. This is a great way to utilize the time when the enemy is immune. Don’t waste resources firing at the boss in its immune stage. We recommend using the Disc Thrower with the Fire and Ice set as your primary and secondary, respectively. This weapon ensures high damage throughout the phases. Make sure you deploy turrets that either have Shadow or Barrier to maximize how long they stay active.
