The Cooking Kit is your key to creating food in Grow a Garden. Find out how to unlock it and start cooking your crops today!
The Cooking Event may be over, but you can still cook food in Grow a Garden using the Cooking Kit. It is a Prismatic tier cosmetic item that you first have to unlock to use the cooking feature in the game after the Cooking Event ended on August 16.
The Beanstalk Event that started on that day added a brand-new Garden Guide mechanic that tracks your progress. It also added achievements to the game, rewarding you with items such as new seed packs and gear such as the Egg Incubator.
The Cooking Kit is an essential piece of cosmetics that you will require to make any food item in the game. For example, during the Beanstalk Event Expansion update, players got access to Giant Goliath’s Friendship Shop only if they gave the NPC food.
In this guide, we will explore exactly how you can unlock the Cooking Kit and start making food in Grow a Garden.

Grow a Garden Guide: Cooking Kit
Overview
Grow a Garden is one of the most popular video games on Roblox, and one of the main reasons is weekly updates. Some of these updates not only bring new plants and gear but also introduce new systems. On August 2, the Cooking Event went live in the game.
The system allowed players to put produce from their gardens in a cooking pot at the center of the map and make food such as burgers, smoothies, cakes, and more. However, the devs removed the pot when the event ended.
How To Get the Cooking Kit in Grow a Garden
Now, you have to unlock the Cooking Kit if you want to make food in Grow a Garden. This is where the Garden Guide comes in. Introduced in the Beanstalk Event update, the Garden Guide is an item you can access from your inventory. It tracks your achievement progress and lets you claim various rewards. To unlock the Cooking Kit, you have to get the Core Plants Common Achievement.
Getting the achievement should not take much time. Here are all the tasks you need to complete to get the Cooking Kit:
- Shovel 100 Plants
- Harvest 200 Carrots
- Gift 1 Carrot
- Sell 500 Strawberries
- Gift 5 Strawberries
Do note that shoveling plants like Carrots and Daffodils does not work. We recommend you plant a lot of strawberries, blueberries, or other cheap multi-harvest plants for the first achievement.
As of the current patch, Grow a Garden players will get one Cooking Kit after completing all of the tasks above. Open the Garden Guide and navigate to the Common Achievement under the Core Plants section to claim it. What’s more, you can also get two more Cooking Kits. Placing and Using the Cooking Kit
After unlocking it, follow these steps:
- Open the cosmetics section from the top left of the screen.
- Scroll down or search for the Cooking Kit cosmetic and plop it down inside your garden area. It does not have to go on a plot.
- Hold the crop you want to cook in your hands and press E to submit on PC. (Long tap on mobile)
- After putting all of the ingredients in, press the green ‘Cook’ button on the pot to start. A timer on the right will let you know how long it will take. The meter on top will show you the chance of receiving a mutated food.
