The Deep of Night is easily the hardest mode in the entirety of Elden Ring Nightreign, far surpassing even the Everdark Sovereigns. The new mode essentially adds significantly more randomization to the Expeditions. In fact, the whole idea of Deep of Night is based on randomization.

In addition to the loot, enemy encampments, and Shifting Earths, even the Nightlords are also randomized in the Deep of Night. Suffice it to say, Deep of Night is not for the faint of heart. However, to aid with the increased difficulty of the new mode, FromSoftware has added an entirely new tier of Relics to the game – the Depth Relics.

What Are Depth Relics in Elden Ring Nightreign

Depth Relics are the new endgame rewards for completing the Deep of Night Expeditions in Elden Ring Nightreign. These are essentially obtained exclusively upon completing the Deep of Night Expeditions. While the Depth Relics are almost identical to the regular Relics, albeit with a Blue outline, they function quite differently.

Firstly, Depth Relics are only usable within the Deep of Night Expeditions. You cannot use your Depth Relics loadout for regular Expeditions or even Everdark Sovereigns. Furthermore, Depth Relics also feature perks that are vastly different from those in the regular Relics.

In addition to that, Depth Relics can also include burdens, i.e., debuffs that affect the Nightfarers negatively. The debuffs are meant to balance out the additional bonuses that you obtain from a total of 6 Relics equipped. Furthermore, the debuffs from the Depth Relics can stack with the detrimental effects that you get on the loot obtained during Deep of Night Expeditions.

The Depth Relics essentially bring Nightreign’s progression much closer to other traditional roguelikes. With Depth Relics, you will have to put a bit more thought into your builds. Furthermore, certain detrimental effects can be used to gain passive buffs as well.

For instance, Caligo’s Relic gives you invisibility and increased i-frames with nearby Frostbite. You can pair this up with a Depth Relic that inflicts Frost damage when going below Max HP. That way, you can trigger the passive effects more often, even with actively using Frost affinity.

How To Easily Farm Depth Relics

Ideally, you’re meant to get Depth Relics as rewards for completing Deep of Night Expeditions. Furthermore, you can get good Depth Relics even if you don’t defeat a Nightlord in Deep of Night. However, to get Depth Relics, you do need to reach Day 2, at least.

That being said, if you have a ton of Murk leftover from completing Everdark Sovereigns and regular Expeditions, you can use them to farm Depth Relics. You can essentially buy RNG Depth Relics from the Jar Bazaar. Do note that Depth Relics are more expensive than regular Relics (1800 Murk).

However, you can easily get enough Murk to gamble 10 Depth Relics upon completing a single Expedition. Furthermore, you can also sell unwanted Depth Relics for a good chunk of Murk.
