Learn how to get the Brooch in Silent Hill F, its significance in New Game+, and why this Brooch matters for endings.

The Brooch in Silent Hill F is more than a simple accessory. It is introduced late in the first playthrough as part of the story. At first, you may think of it as just another key item, but it carries importance that goes far beyond your initial run. The item is tied to Inari seals, post-game exploration, and eventually the True Ending. Because it continues into New Game+, it holds long-term value unlike most other items you collect.
How To Get the Brooch in Silent Hill F
You will receive the Brooch during Chapter 10 inside the Shimizu Residence. It is given to you directly by Fox Mask during the sequence that unfolds in the long hallway. There are no puzzles to solve or choices to make for this to happen. As long as you play through the main story, the Brooch will automatically get added to your Key Items.
Once received, the Brooch stays with you in New Game+, so you do not need to worry about collecting it again.
How To Use the Brooch in Silent Hill F

During your first playthrough, the Brooch only allows you to open one Inari seal toward the very end of the game. You will likely notice other sealed doors and boxes, but they remain locked until you carry the Brooch into New Game+. This is where its real purpose becomes clear.
In New Game+, the Brooch lets you open all Inari-sealed doors in the Dark Shrine and sealed boxes around Ebisugaoka. These hidden spaces lead to omamori, new items, and entire story paths such as the Sacred Sword route.
To progress toward the True Ending, the Brooch must eventually be offered at the Ancient Jizo Statue located southwest of the Shimizu Residence in Ebisugaoka. That step only becomes available after meeting other requirements, such as completing two endings and purifying the Sacred Sword.
