Magic in Nethros is one of the most powerful skills you can unlock, giving players the ability to cast powerful spells that shape both combat and progression. But unlocking it isn’t easy, especially for beginners. You’ll need to meet certain requirements, complete a special challenge, and then work with the spell gacha system to start using abilities.
In this guide, we will tell you how to unlock magic, get spells, find tomes, and progress your magical build efficiently.
Requirements for Unlocking Magic in Nethros
Before starting the quest, make sure you have:
- 10 Souls on your stats (required to trigger the secret dialogue)
- A Glider (optional, helps with movement)
- A Grappling Hook (optional, for easier navigation)

How To Unlock Magic
- Put 10 Souls in stats to activate the secret dialogue prompt. Choose option 1.
- Locate the Stranger NPC and accept their dialogue.
- Travel through the dark area (increasing gamma can help).
- Glide into the blue portal to continue.
- Complete the staircase trial by carefully avoiding invisible gaps.
- Solve the ritual mini-game at the end.
Completing this process unlocks your first ability, usually Resonate.
How To Unlock Spells (Spell Gacha)
Unlocking magic is only the first step. To actually cast spells:
- Speak to the Ancient Wizard inside the tower.
- Collect four magical runes marked on the map.
- Return to the wizard to activate the spell gacha.
Spell Gacha details:
- Each roll costs 1,000 yins.
- Spells are random; duplicates are possible.
- If you can land Flash Freeze or Combustion, you should keep it.
How To Get Tomes Fast
The Ancient Wizard, a.k.a Guillaume, provides Tomes too. These are single-use items that let you instantly cast spells.
- Price: 500 yins per tome.
- Each tome gives one random spell.
- Best saved for emergencies, since they disappear after one use.
While tomes are useful, saving money for permanent spells is more efficient in the long run.
Tips for Magic Progression
- Don’t start until you have at least 10 souls.
- Invest in a glider & grappling hook, as they make navigation easier.
- Spell gacha is random, so expect some duplicates.
- Avoid wasting yin on tomes because acquiring a permanent spell is the real goal.
