It falls into the larger Grab Category in the game and can help you complete objectives and get progression points. Furthermore, since the game does not teach you anything beyond basic tricks during the tutorial, this guide will walk you through the steps of performing a Benihana in Skate.
How To Complete Benihana in Skate
The Benihana in EA’s Skate is one of the many One-Foot Grab tricks. To do it, of course, you will have to learn and memorize the proper combination of buttons, but before that, you need to make sure that you have adequate space. With that said, players should look for elevated surfaces across the city of San Vansterdam and its neighborhoods, because one cannot perform the move on a flat surface. Follow the commands below to perform the Benihana in Skate successfully.
Xbox Controller
- After jumping, push and hold the Right Analog Stick(RS) upwards mid-air.
- Then, press RT + X
- Remember to press the buttons one after the other; pressing them simultaneously won’t work.
PlayStation Controller
- Push and hold the Right Analog Stick(RS) upwards mid-air.
- Then, press R2 + Square
- The same rules apply here: press the buttons one after the other and not simultaneously.

So, it is certainly possible to chain one move with another if both are compatible with each other. For the Benihana, there are several moves that you can pair it up with. However, there are some conditions to it.
For example, to perform multiple tricks together, you will need a significant amount of time in the air. So, keep that in mind and find suitable places that are high enough. We have given a shortlist of the tricks you can chain with Benihana in Skate.
- Flip – While doing the Benihana, hold your Right Analog Stick Up or Down for a Flip.
- Spin – During the Benihana, hold your Right Analog Stick towards the left or right to do a Spin.
- Christ Air – Get into the air, perform the Benihana, and then transition into a Christ Air for a combo.
- Manual – After performing the Benihana mid-air, you can then fall into the ground with a smooth Manual.
All of these tricks are simple to do on their own, but can become harder while chaining into a combo. However, practice makes perfect. So, keep trying your best until you have nailed it down.
