The Shock Elemental Damage is a type of effect that can be dealt using both your vault hunters’ kills and weapon usage. You can obtain these either by looting or by purchasing them directly from vending machines. You can identify whether this effect is in use or not by spotting blue streaks of electricity on the target opponents. The Shock Damage does damage over time and acts as a great means of assistance when dealing with hordes of enemies.

Shock Damage Overview in Borderlands 4
While not a reliable element of effect to use against Flesh and Armor opponents, these are rather extremely effective against shield opponents. It is one of the best elements to use against that category of enemies, draining huge bars of their health with every hit.
Enemies hit with the shock effect will gain the ‘electrocute status effect’. If these enemies were to die due to the shock damage, their faces will burn off and reveal their skulls as well as chunks of their brains, following the explosion of their heads.
You will spot blue barrels that contain shock damage, which will release blue electrical bots when you shoot and destroy them. This is also effective in slowing down enemies by stunning them, giving you more time to dish out more attacks.
