In Silent Hill F, the Raygun isn’t just some random collectible you stumble across. It’s one of Shu’s favourite belongings, and it becomes a major piece in solving the Memories Puzzle inside the Dark Shrine Worship Hall. The description makes it feel personal; it’s chipped and worn, with a note attached warning you to hide it before Hinako tries to take it.
If you are playing on easier difficulties, you won’t ever see it. The Raygun only comes into play on the toughest setting, Lost in the Fog, which makes it a kind of trophy for players who stick through the hardest challenge.
How To Get the Raygun in Silent Hill F
If you want the Raygun in Silent Hill F, you will need to be on Lost in the Fog difficulty. Here, you are tasked with finding all three items, including the Raygun. That means you have to bring both the Brainiac Hero Comic and the Drawing of a Young Shimizu Hinako with you before the Raygun even appears as part of the puzzle.
You will run into it during Chapter 7 in the Dark Shrine Worship Hall. To get there, first work through the eastern chambers puzzle and then head into the boss arena. This is where you meet the Birthing Monster, a grotesque creature that doesn’t make things easy. It spits blood as a warning before launching a ranged attack, roars to freeze you in place, and slams its body around the room to corner you.
On top of that, it drops cocoons that hatch into smaller enemies if you don’t destroy them quickly. The key to surviving is to keep moving, smash cocoons as soon as they drop, and back away right after landing hits so you don’t get caught in the stun.
After you finally bring it down, don’t rush to leave the arena. The Raygun is hidden in a shadowy corner that’s easy to overlook. Head to the southwest side of the room, look near the wooden filing cabinets and herbal storage shelves, and check the small wooden rack sitting beside them. That’s where you will find the Raygun waiting.
How To Use the Raygun in Silent Hill F
Once you have picked it up, bring the Raygun back to the Grand Hall. From there, go through the Sacred Door into Shu’s display room. Inside, you will see pedestals designed to hold his treasured possessions. Place the Raygun on its pedestal along with the other items you have gathered. Only when all of them are in position will the Memories Puzzle be complete.
