Help Levaine uncover the traitor among the Electi in Borderlands 4’s A Traitor Within side mission and solve the triangle puzzle.
‘A Traitor Within’ is the fourth Electi side mission following ‘Enter the Electi Part 1,’ ‘Enter the Electi Part 2,’ and ‘The Council Divided.’ Speak with Levaine in the Leaders Chamber of Carcadia to begin the quest. Someone among the Electi is leaking information to the Rippers, which resulted in the theft of the town’s weapon supplies. Although finding the mole is crucial, the city is facing a food shortage that needs to be addressed first.
Borderlands 4: A Traitor Within Walkthrough
- Rewards:
- Rare or Epic Shotgun
- ECHO-4 Paintjob: Middle Name “Danger”

Collect and Drop Off Food
Head west out of the city and into the Ruined Sumplands to find thresher eggs. Kill the Threshers within the marked area, and they will drop eggs. Collect four eggs to proceed. Next, kill the Pangolins nearby to collect their glands.
As you finish collecting the food, the traitor among the Electi makes their move and sends an Order ship to kill you. Eliminate the Order attackers and head to Moxxi’s bar to drop off the food on the counter.
Explore the Cave
Travel to the west of Tonnage Peel to reach the Boneyard and meet Levaine, where the mole is set to make an appearance. Fight your way through the enemies at the Boneyard. Kill the Badass Psycho to hear an ECHO log about the Mole’s schemes.
Enter the cave and use Levaine’s Grapple Drone to reach higher ground and cross chasms. At the end of the cave, you’ll encounter the traitor and their retinue of Order forces. Defeat all enemies and use the Grapple Drone above the north exit of the chamber to reach the cockpit.

Triangle Puzzle
- Interact with the console to activate the interface, and a hologram will appear.
- Shoot the red triangle—Willem’s node—and destroy it.
- Move to the left until the triangles overlap and aim for the red triangle.
- Stand next to Levaine and shoot the red triangle.
- Jump to the top of the pile of boxes in the southern corner of the room and target the red triangle where it’s visible between the circles.
With the encryption broken, you are free to leave the cave and confront the traitor in the next mission, ‘The Mole’s Gambit.’
