How To Preload Battlefield 6: Game Size for All Platforms Explained

Here’s how you preload Battlefield 6 before October 10 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S gaming platforms.

October 10 is right around the corner, with Battlefield 6 officially launching on all platforms, including the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. You can atleast avoid longer queues by having the game files downloaded on your console or PC in advance.

To begin the download, you must own the game via a pre-order. If you haven’t already, pre-order a digital copy of Battlefield 6 on your preferred platform.

How To Preload Battlefield 6 on PC, PS5, Xbox

Here’s how you can preload Battlefield 6 across multiple platforms. 

PC Gamers

  1. Launch your preferred storefront: Steam, the Epic Games Store, or the EA App.
  2. Open the Battlefield 6 store page.
  3. Purchase the game if you haven’t already.
  4. After a successful pre-order, a “Preload” button will be available. Click it to begin downloading.

PlayStation 5

  1. Open the PlayStation Store and find the Battlefield 6 game page.
  2. After ensuring you have pre-ordered the game, head to your Game Library
  3. Find Battlefield 6 in your library and select the “Download” option to start the preloading process.

Xbox Series X/S

  1. Go to the Xbox Store and search for the Battlefield 6 store page.
  2. Once you’ve pre-purchased the title, select the “Preload” option to begin the download. Xbox preloads went live on October 1, 2025.

Download sizes vary extensively across multiple platforms and can change depending on your choice of higher-resolution textures. EA has also stated that players will be able to customize which components to install, thereby reducing the file download size to as low as 55GB on PC. That said, the download sizes across multiple platforms are as follows:

  • PC: ~76 GB total (base: 48.88 GB; multiplayer: 5 GB; single-player: 15 GB; plus HD add-ons).
  • PS5: ~67 GB (full install; beta was around 34 GB).
  • Xbox Series X/S: ~70 GB (X base: 41 GB; S base: 39.10 GB before HD packs).
