Radix is one of the three Primordial Guardian bosses in Borderlands 4, each guarding their own Vault in a different region of Kairos. With a wide array of earth and electric attacks at its disposal, Radix is considered the most difficult of the Primordial Guardians to beat.

However, defeating Radix can yield three different Legendary items and a Glide Pack upgrade. Additionally, clearing his Vault is required to unlock the Ultimate Vault Hunter 5 difficulty mode after beating the main story.

Primordial Guardian Radix resides at the end of the Arch of Radix Vault, located in Grindstone of the Worthy, Carcadia Burn. However, before you can access the Vault, you’ll need to collect three Vault Key Fragments scattered throughout Carcadia Burn.

The Carcadia Range has three Silos that you can capture to mark the search area of the Vault Key Fragments. Silos are Order facilities that you can clear and capture, similar to safehouses, to serve as fast travel points. The three Silos you need to capture are:

  • Site Unseen
  • Rustical Hurl
  • Judgement’s Lapse

After obtaining the keys and entering the Vault, you’ll have to fight through three areas of powerful enemies to reach a checkpoint with two vending machines. Proceed to the arena ahead to challenge Primordial Guardian Radix.

How To Beat Primordial Guardian Radix Boss in Borderlands 4

  • Radix possesses three health bars: one Shield and two Armor. After depleting his Shields with Shock or Radiation damage, you can quickly melt through the Armor health bars with Corrosive or Cryo damage.
  • The boss can create a series of orbiting boulders around it, which makes it difficult to get clear shots. Aim for Radix’s legs when the boulders block a clear line of sight.
  • Run circles around Radix to dodge most attacks, including thrown boulders. Keep an eye out for electrified ground and Shock attacks.
  • Target Radix’s head whenever possible to land critical hits.
  • Radix swipes the ground to create a drill on its arm. Using it, it can execute different attacks.
  • After losing its Shield, the Primordial Guardian can begin levitating. During this time, it launches powerful AoE Shock attacks.
  • Pangolins spawn around the arena throughout the boss fight. Kill them whenever you get breathing room to reduce incoming damage. Since they spawn continuously, you will likely have one available in case you get downed and need a kill for Second Wind.
